The parent/legal guardian must show a driver’s license with current address or a form of government-issued ID and verification of current address (such as a piece of mail, lease agreement, checkbook, billing statement, etc.).
You can use your library card at any Jefferson County Public Library. Please note that if you borrow materials from other Jefferson County libraries, checkout time, late charges and return requirements may vary.
Library cards are valid for two years. When your card expires, you may renew it at any JCLC library by showing your driver’s license or other government issued photo ID and verification of current address.
You may have a maximum of 150 items checked out on your card at a time. Only 10 DVDs can be checked out at a time.
Yes! Materials from other JCLC libraries can be requested by patrons for pick up at Center Point Public Library. These requests can be made online, in person and by phone.
Any non-digital item checked out at a JCLC location will be renewed automatically at the end of its lending period, with the following exceptions:
The library's system does not keep a history of what people have checked out in the past. It only keeps a record of what is currently checked out and items with problems, such as fines. You may choose to opt in to My Reading History. It allows you to keep a record of your checkouts. As the card holder, only you have access to your history, you may delete any or all of your checkout records, and you may opt out at any time. Please note that the library routinely erases checkout records for privacy reasons, and by opting in to this feature, you are choosing to retain the information. Go to View Your Record and opt in to keep a history of you have checked out.
You will be notified by courtesy email notice that your item has been automatically renewed. If you opted to not receive courtesy email notices, you will not be notified. You will be alerted with the standard notice, however, when the item is overdue.
Yes! You can pay your fines at https://smartpay.jclc.org/Scripts/Smartpay/SmartPay.dll
Turn in your overdue items anyway to prevent accruing even more fines. You can still check out items if your fines are $5.00 or less.
You are responsible for all items checked out on your card.
Yes, the library has study rooms available for patrons to use on a first come, first served basis.
